Maurizio is Mr. International Rubber 2007
Maurizio Iacone was born in Rome but has been living in Milano for many years now. Since he was 16 he was always interested in motorbikes (he is among the founders of the first gay bikers club in Milano) and leather gear. Since 1987 he has been attending most international gay fetish events in Europe and it was at one of these events that he discovered the pleasure of rubber as well. The intense feeling of wearing Rubber suits and the numerous sex-games that it allows. Maurizio bought his first rubber gear in Berlin in 1997 and wearing rubber the first time was a true revelation. He is always adding rubber items at his already overstocked fetish wardrobe during every journey abroad. It’s his second skin!
In 1990 he co-founded the Leather Club Milano and he has been an active member for many years serving also as the secretary and vice-president of the organisation. He then joined the Leather Club Roma and in November 2005 he was elected Mr Rubber Italy 2006. During the year 2006 he travelled throughout Italy, attending events in Roma, Milano, Naples, Verona, Parma, to promote the Italian Rubber scene. Additionally he represented his country aboard by attending Rubber Pride in Mannheim, Folsom Europe in Berlin and the Full Rubber Contest in Berlin.
In November 2006 he took part in the Mr. International Rubber 2007 contest where he became the first man to claim the title for Italy! As MIR2007 Maurizio doubled his efforts to promote the Rubber scene and has been on the move as much as his job and private life have allowed.
Highlights of his year as MIR2007 included serving as a judge at the election of Mr MEC (Mec En Caoutchout) 2007 in Paris, attending the European Confederation of Motorcycle Clubs Annual General Meeting in Stockholm, and participating in the 2007 ECMC Bike Run.
Marurizio’s efforts are not restricted to the fetish scene. He has always been on the front lines of the fight for gay rights. He is against any kind of discrimination and is particularly involved in the fight for the legalisation of same sex marriage. He “came out” very early in his life and since 1984 he has taken participated in Gay Pride Parades. As a titleholder, Maurizio has appeared in many gay magazines to represent the Italian fetish scene and his involvement for the gay community. In November 2006 he was a guest on a TV talk show to speak of the Italian gay fetish community and to claim the attention of the public on the issue of gay marriages.

Maurizio Iacone nasce a Roma ma vive a Milano oramai da diversi anni. Da quando aveva sedici anni si è sempre interessato di moto (è fra i fondatori del primo club di motociclisti gay di Milano) e di abbigliamento in pelle. A partire dal 1987 ha frequentato la maggior parte degli eventi gay fetish d’Europa, e ad uno di questi eventi ha scoperto la propria passione per la gomma, la sensazione intensa che dona e i vari giochi sexy che consente. Maurizio acquista il suo primo capo in gomma a Berlino nel 1997, e indossarlo è stata per lui una vera rivelazione. Ha perciò continuato ad aggiungere articoli in gomma al proprio guardaroba viaggio dopo viaggio.
Nel 1990 è stato co-fondatore del LCM e ne è stato un membro attivo per diversi anni, facendo da segretario e da vice presidente del club. Si è iscritto a LCR e nel novembre 2005 è stato eletto mr Rubber Italy 2006. Nel 2006 ha viaggiato in tutta Italia partecipando a eventi a Roma, Milano, Napoli, Verona, Parma, promuovendo la gomma sulla scena italiana. Inoltre ha rappresentato il paese all’estero partecipando al Rubber Pride di Mannheim, al Folsom Europe di Berlino e al Full Rubber Contest, sempre a Berlino.
E’ membro anche di Leather Friends Italia sin dalla sua fondazione.
Nel novembre 2006 ha partecipato a Mr International Rubber 2007 ed è stato il primo italiano a vincere il titolo. In qualità di MIR 2007 Maurizio ha raddoppiato gli sforzi per promuovere il l’ambiente rubber per quanto la vita privata e gli impegni lavorativi glielo permettessero. Come MIR2007 è stato nella giuria di Mr MEC 2007 a Parigi, ha partecipato all’ECMC AGM di Stoccolma e all’ECMC Bike Run.
L’azione di Maurizio non si limita però alla scena fetish, in quanto si è sempre adoperato nella lotta per i diritti gay. Contro ogni tipo di discriminazione, si è molto impegnato nella lotta per l’estensione del matrimonio alle coppie dello stesso sesso. Ha fatto il suo Coming Out molto presto e sin dal 1984 ha partecipato ai cortei del Gay Pride. Come mr è apparso in diverse riviste per rappresentare la scena fetish italiana e per promuovere il proprio impegno nella lotta per i diritti dei gay. Nel novembre 2006 è apparso in un tv talk per parlare della comunità fetish italiana e per richiamare l’attenzione sul diritto al matrimonio per le coppie gay.
