From Pisa airport to Florence BY TRAIN From December 2015, a new fast and fully automatic connection will link Pisa Airport to Pisa Centrale train station, but now the connection is by shuttle. The PisaMover shuttle bus provides a good connection between the airport and the train station: it runs every ten minutes, from 6 am to 12 am (midnight), and the trip takes around eight minutes. Once in Pisa Centrale station, the train takes around one hour/one hour and a half to arrive in Florence and the ticket costs €8 (second class only). Check out the Trenitalia’s website for timetables but keep in mind that the last train from Pisa Central Station to Florence is at 10.30 pm.
Direct connection from Bologna Airport
A shuttle service will operate between Florence and Bologna’s G. Marconi Airport. Called the Apennines Shuttle, the service will offer 10 departures daily from the Bologna airport and 10 from the Firenze Fortezza and Calenzano Carrefour stops. www.appenninoshuttle.it
